Privacy Policy

Jeeran ("the App", "we") is operated by Maxima Group, located at Office 404, City 4 Building, Al Garhoud, 53 St., Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. (45) of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and its Executive Regulations.

This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use the App. By using Jeeran, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.

a. Data you provide directly

• Name, phone, email at registration
• Your residential unit or office details (tower name, floor, unit number)
• Company details for business accounts (trade name, licence, business sector)
• Listings and posts you publish in the marketplace or community
• Messages exchanged with other users

b. Data collected automatically

• Geolocation data (to enable proximity-based search: same floor → tower → area), collected only after your explicit permission
• Device information (model, OS, device ID)
• Usage data (pages visited, features used, login times)
• IP address and network data

c. Transaction data

• Deal history and quote requests
• Subscription and payment data (processed via certified payment providers, we do not store full card details)

We process your data under one of the following bases:

• Your explicit consent: for location data and marketing notifications
• Performance of a contract: to deliver the services you requested
• Legitimate interest: to improve the service and prevent fraud

We use your data to:

• Operate proximity-based search within your building
• Connect you with neighbours, companies and services nearby
• Facilitate communication and deals between users
• Send building notifications and operational alerts
• Improve app performance and user experience
• Comply with legal obligations

We may share your data with:

• Other users: your public profile information (name/company name, floor) is visible to users within your building or area when you post a listing or service
• Service providers: cloud hosting, payment processing, analytics (contractually bound to protect your data)
• Building management: limited data where necessary to manage tower services
• Competent government authorities: where legally required

We do not sell your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

Proximity-based search is core to Jeeran. We request location permission to rank results nearest to you (unit → floor → tower → area). At any time you may:

• Decline location permission (with limited core functions remaining)
• Use approximate instead of precise location
• Withdraw permission via your device settings

Some of your data may be stored or processed on servers outside the UAE. In such cases we comply with Articles (22) and (23) of the PDPL, and transfer data only to countries providing an adequate level of protection or under appropriate contractual safeguards.

We apply technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control (RBAC), and periodic review. However, no electronic system can guarantee absolute security.

We retain your data while your account is active. After account deletion we retain only the legal minimum (e.g. transaction records for tax purposes), then delete or anonymise it.

Under the UAE PDPL you have the right to:

• Access and obtain a copy of your data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data ("right to erasure")
• Restrict or object to processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Object to automated decisions

You can fully delete your account from within the App: Settings → Account → Delete Account, consistent with Apple and Google requirements.

Jeeran is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn that we have collected a minor's data, we delete it immediately.

The App uses AI features (e.g. generating listing descriptions, analysing photos, and suggesting prices). We disclose this clearly within the App, and your data is processed within these features in accordance with this policy.

We may update this policy from time to time and will notify you of any material changes via the App before they take effect.
